At Groove Studios and Music Academy, we are always trying to do innovative things to help gets develop a love for modern music. Check out camps, seminars, and special short term programs below. 

Rockstar Basic Music Day Camp

Join us June 16th thru the 20th for a full week of learning how to be a Rock Star.

What to Expect!

  • Learn the basics of music
  • Learn Modern Music History…think of that Jack Black movie where he’s a substitute teacher.
  • Learn singing techniques
  • Stage Presence
  • Recording techniques
  • Top it all off with a music video

What Camper’s Need!

  • A Great attitude
  • Bring your own Lunch and Snacks
  • Music Knowledge not required, but always helps.
  • Respect fellow campers
  • Be willing to Have Fun!
  • Ability to follow directions and listen when needed. 

Camp Dates, Times and Other Info:

  • Camp runs June 16th Thru June 20th (Other dates may become available)
  • Camp Times are 9am until 4pm (Earlier or later Hangout times availabe for additional tuition)
  • Tuition for the camp is $400
  • To Particpate in any program at GSAMA, you must agree to the GSAMA code of conduct and Waiver and Liability release. You may review both here.
  • Each Camp/Program is limited to a maximum of 10 campers.  Enrollment will be closed once that limit has been reached. 

All payments are contracted through “Groove Web Marketing, LLC” DBA Groove Studios and Music Academy. Your CC statement may only Reflect Groove Web Marketing, LLC as the payee. 

Young Songwriter’s Camp

Join us June 23rd thru the 26th to learn the basics of Songwriting.

What to Expect!

  • Learn from published Spotift verified artists and songwriters.
  • Learn basic song structure.
  • How to tell stories with lyrics
  • Popular Song Chord progressions
  • Basics of Melody and Harmony
  • Write a song with others and record it.

What Participant’s Need!

  • A Great attitude
  • Bring your own Snacks and drinks.
  • Music Knowledge not required, but helpful.
  • Respect fellow campers
  • Be willing to Have Fun!
  • Ability to follow directions and listen when needed.

  • Tuition for the camp is $250

Wes Herndon

Guitar, Bass, Uke, and Vocals

Wes Herndon is a seasoned musician and passionate musician dedicated to inspiring the next generation of artists. With years of experience on stage and in the studio, Wes brings real-world insight to his students, teaching guitar, voice, songwriting, and music production through a modern, performance-based approach. He is the founding instructor at Groove Studios and Music Academy in Freeport, Florida, where he blends traditional fundamentals with the language of today’s working musicians. Whether leading a swamp rock jam or guiding young performers in their first band, Wes believes music should always be bold, expressive, and fun.

Jeff Silvey is a renowned producer, songwriter, and performer from the Florida Panhandle, known for his significant contributions to country music.
